“WATCH ME” like Silentó

Living and working in Hollywood presents itself with some random opportunities.  One afternoon I found myself at the legendary Capitol Records tower to visit my boyfriend Danny Lockwood who runs creative for the company.  His department was currently working on the Silentó dance video “Watch Me” which already had thousands of fan-made videos on YouTube.

The “Official” video was going to combine some of the fan-made footage as well as the produced original material featuring Silentó himself.  The video was missing a key shot of a group doing the “WATCH ME”… and they were on a deadline!  I happened to be arriving when Danny was convincing his department to be a part of this and I was roped in. We had 10 minutes to learn the dance to shoot it!  We’re in there twice…see if you can find us!
(In case you missed it, we’re at 0:42 and 1:50)
What’s even crazier is our 2 segments happened to be shown on the “Good Morning America” performance of “Watch Me”… so we were on National TV too!

The video was released in June, 2015 and now has almost 400 million views on YouTube and continues to be one of the top videos downloaded on the iTunes store.  Today, the “Whip”, “Nae-Nae” and “Stanky Leg” are now as popular as the “Macarena”.  ”
